Pentecostal Perspective: It Pays To Witness !

After 1 week of witnessing to a new friend of mine that I have made here in Atlanta, he was Baptised TODAY in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ according to Acts 2:38. I took him to Harvest Time Apostolic Ministries in Riverdale, GA to be baptised (since I knew they would have water readily available in their pool). All of heaven rejoiced when this soul went down in the precious Name of Jesus. I thank and I praise God for Him completing the work in this young man because he had already been filled with the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in tongues as the Spirit of God gives utterance. Saints, IT PAYS TO WITNESS.

Christians are motivated to share the Good News primarily because our Lord commands us to evangelize. The heart of the Great Commission in Matthew 28:19-20 is “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations.” The command in Acts 1:8 is “Ye shall be witnesses unto me.” At the Berlin Congress on Evangelism John R. W. Stott said: “We engage in evangelism, not necessarily because we want to, or because we choose to, or because we like to; but because we have been told to. The church is under orders. The risen Lord has commanded us to go, to preach, and to make disciples, and that is enough for Us.

We are motivated to evangelize also because men are lost (Luke 19:10), without hope (Ephesians 2:12), under condemnation (John 3:36), and destined for destruction (Mark 16:16).

Take the time today to witness about the soon coming of Our Lord Jesus Christ. Remember, all heaven rejoices when one soul comes to God by taking on His Name through Water Baptism and receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost. Again, it truly pays to witness.
