Survey Says……..

How often do you read the Apostolic Pentecost (also known as the Pope of Pentecost) Blog?

The majority of our readers read the blog every few days.

What do you like most about this blog?

This question was a toss between it offers good reading and it’s doctrinally sound.

How often should this blog come out with new material?

This question was a toss up between as often as the Lord leads and once a day.

What do you like least about this blog? (This is an open ended question so type your true feelings)

There are a few comments that I’d like to address. I’ll start with the secular.

One person wanted me to stop praising Barack Obama. My answer to you is this, Romans 13:7 says “Render therefore to all their dues: tribute to whom tribute is due; custom to whom custom; fear to whom fear; honour to whom honour.”  Paul’s words were vital in his own day, and they are just as important to contemporary Christians.  Let us consider what God requires of us in our relationship to civil government.  On a personal note, I am a black man and am so elated that after 229 years there is an African American man as president during my time. This is history at its finest. Remember, if you DID or DID NOT vote for him, he still is your president. Also keep in mind, God is the final authority in the Christian believer. Do I agree with everything President Obama stands for? No, however I will still give him honor because he is our president and earthly ruler here in the United States of America. God has a way of using people to cause Christianity to triumph over all time and time again.

Spelling and grammar: I can change that however keep in mind I am not perfect and my typing might be just the way that I am thinking or I am typing in haste and immediately want to get my thoughts out to the blog. NO offense taken, but please don’t be offended about spelling and grammar. Perhaps school will do a better job at teaching me spelling and grammar. (smile)

Views concerning women in the ministry: No where in scripture will you find women Pastors and Bishops. This is a proven fact. Priscilla, Deborah, Phoebe were not women Pastors nor Bishops as some would suppose. Here are some scriptures to read in regards to women. 1 Timothy 3:1-2 “Here is a trustworthy saying: If anyone sets his heart on being an overseer, he desires a noble task. Now the overseer must be above reproach, the husband of but one wife, temperate, self-controlled, respectable, hospitable, able to teach.” This scripture is clear that an overseer/bishop is a man. A husband of one wife. This scripture is gender specific. 1 Timothy 2:12 “But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man” This is not a cultural scripture. This is what the Church of God believed in. A woman CAN teach, but she cannot teach or usurp authority over the man. This is scripture and if you attempt to do an exegesis on this scripture in order to fit your view or standards concerning women Pastors, your out of order and twisting scripture. Sure, Juanita Bynum, Jackie McCullough, Sheryl Brady and all the rest of the modern day televangelist are excellent speakers, but in order to stay in line with scripture, they need to teach women only. Here is the scripture that supports this, Titus 2:3-5 “The aged women likewise, that they be in behavior as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things; That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children, To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.” This is what the Bible says and that settles it. So are women called? YES, but they must use their calling as Titus 2:3-5 says they need to and not attempt to twist their calling into something that would cause the “word of God to be blasphemed”. My final thoughts are this, if you feel called to be a pastor, preach as much as you want. You don’t have to give an account to me. You only have to give an account to God and He will judge you based off His Word. Lets agree to disagree amicably.

Blog Updates: Some people wish it was updated more regularly. Well, I can attempt to update more regularly however keep in mind, I hold down 2 full time jobs and am going to school online full time so at times I just don’t update it that much. Sometimes I read articles that I want to share so I do copy and paste them and give credit to the writer. What can I say, it’s a blog and I’m a busy man. But rest assured, when I don’t have writers block or something important I feel is happening, I will keep everyone informed.

Blog Layout: Someone advised that the pages and lettering were too dark and should be lighter. Agreed! As you can tell, I’ve given the blog a simple face lift. Something more aesthetically pleasing to the eye. Thanks for your honesty. Oh, and if the columns and borders start to act up and cut certain words off, I’ll be more than happy to attempt to adjust them as deemed fit.

Demographics: I wanted to know who my target audience is. If Oprah can target mostly women and Jerry Springer can target trashy people to watch their shows, I should be able to know how many male versus female readers I have. Also, if 100% of my readers are Apostolic, I dont need to do that many articles that are geared towards one particular religious view. However, from the demographic questions that were answered, I find that an equilibrium must be reached. Holiness, Sanctification, the Oneness of God, Baptism in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ, Gospel Music and secular current events still need to be expounded upon.

60% of the readers are male while 40% of the readers are female.

Most readers are 42 years of age or older, the next biggest age category is the 31-41 year olds.

72% of the readers are Apostolic which is good because to me, this means that 28% of my readers are NOT Apostolic and are getting exposed to the Truth. This was the whole reason why I have so much doctrine on the website. I wanted people to know the basic tenants of the Apostolic Faith so that we can get as many souls baptized in Jesus Name and Holy Ghost filled speaking in tongues (This is the new birth experience). For those that already know all of this, consider any doctrinal post as a refresher, but if I can get just ONE soul to come into the knowledge of The Truth, this Blog is doing its job. To me, preaching Jesus is preaching the Apostolic Faith and I along with every leader will be held accountable if The Truth is not preached.

96% of the readers have been baptized in Jesus Name and 96% of the readers have been filled with the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in tongues. EXCELLENT! Now we have to pray that the other 4% take on God’s biblical standard of salvation. So let’s keep praying for that 4%. We still have work to do. Also this lets me know that some other readers classify themselves as non-denominational or other denominations but have the biblical standard of salvation. This is proof that Apostolic’s (in name) are not the only ones going to heaven.

With that being said, the survey is still open for those who have not taken it. I am so glad that this survey was such a success.  I’ve decided to start to post every other day unless the Lord should say differently. I don’t want to flood your inbox with blog post. Rest assured I will continue to stay “steadfast in the Apostles doctrine” and continue to give you a well rounded view of what’s going on in the world today. Again, your suggestions were well received!

Bless you in Jesus Name!
