Resurrection With Apostolic Doctrine Power: Who is Jesus and why is He important to an Apostolic Believer?

Palm Sunday is about Jesus Christ. Good Friday is about Jesus Christ. Easter is about Jesus Christ. All days the majority of Christendom observe however who is Jesus and why do Apostolics believe in Him, call Him God Almighty and worship Him as King of Kings and Lord of Lords? First and foremost we need to have a clear understanding of who Jesus Christ is. To an Apostolic Oneness believer, Jesus is God! That’s right. God and Jesus are not separate but are ONE! “Isaiah 9:6 is one of the most powerful proofs that Jesus is God: “For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father the Prince of Peace.” The terms child and son refer to the Incarnation or manifestation of “The mighty God” and “The everlasting Father.” Isaiah prophesied that the Messiah would be called Immanuel, that is, God with us (Isaiah 7:14 Matthew 1:22-23). Isaiah 40:3 declares that one would cry in the wilderness, “Prepare ye the way of the LORD, make straight in the desert a highway for our God.” John the Baptist fulfilled this prophecy when he prepared the way for Jesus (Matthew 3:3); so Jesus is the LORD (Jehovah) and our God. The Old Testament clearly states that the Messiah and Savior to come would be God Himself.” (Bernard, 1983)

So why did Jesus come? Glad you asked, we as Apostolic Oneness Pentecostals believe through scripture that Jesus came so that we might have salvation through Him and Him alone. There are other world religions that give salvation through other means; however these are false alternatives to true salvation. You must come through Jesus (which we have learned today is God Almighty) in order for you to be saved. There is no other way.  John 14:6 says “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” However we learned that in Isaiah 9:6 that Jesus is the Father. So our point is clear and true, Apostolic Doctrine teaches that Jesus is the only way to salvation.

Jesus did miracles, signs and wonders while He was physically on the earth. Jesus also taught us how to pray (Matthew 6:9-13). As a human, Jesus cried (John 11:35) but as God He promises to wipe away every tear (Revelation 21:4) as a human Jesus ate (Luke 24:41-43) but as God, Jesus is the Bread of Life (John 6:35) While on earth Jesus was the only perfect example of holiness.

You can’t teach Apostolic Doctrine without teaching Jesus. I can teach you lessons on tongues, baptism, outward adornment, rapture, headcoverings and long skirts with cotton stockings (if you choose) all day long, however if you don’t teach Jesus, you’ve missed the boat. As we enter into this weeks series of Apostolic Resurrection Doctrine, understand that belief in Jesus, His death, burial and resurrection are mandatory non-optional doctrines/theologies that must be understood in order to live a victorious life.

  1. this is so very refreshing to read .the doctrine seems to not be so important now. no one really speaks on the baptisim anymore or the deity . i would like to say ,that apostolic people need to stick to the written word and stop all this so-called prohecy it is not biblical. God is not going to reveal somthing to one church and not reveal it to the church around the conner, we feel because of our liberty we can say just anything that we want and this is a problem, with our churches we need to know what prohecy is. telling me that im going to get a new house next week is not prohecey it could be a word of knowledge. now if im cheating on my wife and leave her and my kids and the man of God gets up to preach and the lord reaveal it to him and gives him a message” adulteres will have their place in the lake then thats NEW TESTAMENT PROHECY .the mormons are mixed up today because of this

  2. i want to receive more info. and lessons about apostolic way of living
