Discipleship Week

The Spirit clearly says that in later times some will abandon the faith and follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons. (1 Timothy 4:1) ( NIV) Is that happening today? YES, and it’s happening all over the world! Sex, drugs, alcohol, abuse and the disintegration of family have left many unresolved conflicts. To a degree, we have lost the ministry of discipleship in the American Church.  Material that is used in church’s are dated and does not address the needs of those who desperately need to be established alive and free in Christ. What can we do about this? I know, we can learn to be better disciples of Christ through the power of the Holy Ghost. Its time to meet people where they are and help them resolve their personal and spiritual conflicts so that they can be alive and free in Christ.

Discipleship is the process of building into one another the life of Christ. This weeks focus lesson will be devoted to the churched as well as the unchurched. I’ll be discussing topics such as:

  • Overcoming False Guidance
  • Overcoming Deception
  • Overcoming Bitterness
  • Overcoming Rebellion
  • Overcoming Pride
  • Overcoming Habitual Sin
  • Overcoming Ancestral Sins

It is my goal to share with you everything that I am learning this semester in a discipleship course that I am taking (plus I have to do a 7 page paper that is due this Sunday so this will help me out too). Its time for us to get into the nitty gritty of the matter and start the process of overcoming things that are hindering us as Christians. Sit prayerful this week as the Holy Ghost leads and guides us all into deliverance from the bondage of sin.

  1. Awesome! Can’t wait to read your writings!

  2. I was blessed in that I was truely discplined. by Mother Ruth Allen C.O.O.L.J.C. We worked together. Any time I had a question she took me to the Word (not the dicpline book for those of C.O.OL.J.C. it wes red and now is hard to find) What she didn’t know she was honest about it. would say Honey let’s pray and get an answer together. She help me be the SS teacher I’m today. She allowed me to challenge her and she challenged me to S-T-R-E-C-H in Jesus. More important than that she accepted me where I was in the Lord. and gave me room to grow. corrected me in love and with love
