Today Was A Good Day!

Have you ever lost contact with someone all to find them years later and pick right back up from where you left off? Thats what happened to me today. You know the internet makes the world so small. Today I was able to speak with a friend that I came up with in New York City after 15 years of being a part. Man oh man is it refreshing to have good people return back in your life after so many years. The ironic thing is, as we talked about the things of God and the people of God, we found some common ground concerning the state of Christendom today. I’m so glad for kingdom minded individuals like myself. You know, its important to surround yourself with people who are kingdom minded.

You ask, what does it mean to be kingdom minded? Glad you asked. I’ll give you some examples of what it takes to be kingdom minded. As you and I both know, our perfect example is the Lord Jesus Christ. Matthew 4:23
says that “Jesus went throughout Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the good news of the kingdom, and healing every disease and sickness among the people.” In order to be kingdom minded, we must follow the example that Jesus left. Our great God who came down in flesh form preached the good news (that is the gospel). He healed every disease and sickness that people had. What a Mighty God we serve. Thats one portion of being kingdom minded. Preaching the good news. Kingdom minded people do not spend time in prayer praying for riches, fame and fortune. You see Matthew 6:33 says “But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” Our prayer time needs to be seeking all the righteousness that God has to offer which can be found in His heavenly kingdom. After we seek all the Lord and his righteousness, all of the fringe benefits of being a citizen of the kingdom (such as houses and cars and land) automatically follow. Now aint that a blessing. You see, I no longer spend time praying for that new car or for that matter any materialistic thing, I spend time praying for Gods will to be done on earth as it already is in heaven (Matthew 6:10). Another great example of being kingdom minded is teaching others about Christ. What does Acts 28:31 say? “Boldly and without hindrance he preached the kingdom of God and taught about the Lord Jesus Christ.” This scripture says nothing about seed offerings and money lines and “name it and claim it” miracles. Again, as we learned from previous scripture, the being kingdom minded is about preaching good news and that good news can only be found in Christ The Lord, His ways, His attributes, His mind, and His character.

As you start your day out today, make it your habit to be an Apostolic Kingdom Minded Individual. The Apostles doctrine is still valid and will continue to be valid up and until Jesus comes. The Apostles taught water baptism through immersion in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ. The Apostles also taught the infilling of the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in tongues as the Spirit of God gives the utterance. But wait! We don’t stop there. The Apostles also taught the necessity of cultivating the Fruit of the Spirit that every Christian is eligible to possess which includes love, joy, peace, longsuffering and the list goes on. Finally, the Apostles taught us to be holy as Jesus Christ, God in the flesh is holy and to make disciples of all nations preaching the good news of a soon coming King. When we add these precious kingdom attributes to our daily walk, we can rest assured that we are being kingdom minded citizens of heaven.
