Apostolic Pentecost: Contending For The Faith!

When you go to church on Sunday for worship and for your midweek services what is your sole purpose for going. Is it to attack the Pastor? Is it to ridicule the congregation? Is it to gather ammunition to deploy at the “right time” when a heated religious debate happens in a non church environment? What makes you read a religious blog? Is it to build upon what you already know about Christ? Is it to learn something new that you never knew existed? Is it to get soul winning tips and win souls for Christ?

It has become very apparent that the reason why some people come to Apostolic Pentecost is because they have no desire to convert to the Apostolic Oneness Faith, but specifically have set out to debate scripture.

Perhaps you have forgotten that this is a 100% Apostolic Oneness Pentecostal website you are on. The only teachings that are going to be preached and teached is on the Apostolic Faith. Its clear and concise on God’s standard of salvation. The reason for this site is to encourage those of like faith, reach across denominational and organizational lines to proclaim the Truth of God to all. Soul winning is number one. Out of all the debates I have yet to see anyone get angry when they find out that no one has witnessed this week. I’ve seen no one upset because they found out another reader did not read their Word. No one asks one another about their prayer life. No one even cares to offer a prayer up for one another. Instead, the basics of Christianity are debated and for what? Its clear there is only One Way To God. ONE WAY! It’s clear that everyone who does not take the narrow path will end up in torment. God is still sovereign enough to save anyone that’s willing to be saved and unfortunately He is such a gentleman that when you say No to basic principles of Christianity, He will leave you alone hoping you will come to your senses before time runs out.

The sole purpose of Apostolic Pentecost is to when souls, encourage one another in like faith through prayer and fasting, and finally hold up the Oneness Apostolic Pentecostal banner of Holiness and righteousness in both outward and inward holiness standards.

Remember 100% Apostolic, 100% Jesus Only, 100% One God Tongue Talkers, 100% Inward and Outward Holiness, 100% heaven bound with no alternative direction. Our main goal is to reach the lost at any cost. Apostolic is NOT a denomination. It is the foundational structure of God’s Church with Jesus Christ being the Chief Cornerstone.

Keep that in mind when you post in Jesus Name………….

  1. Perhaps I won’t be able to articulate it in the best manner, but I hope to convey enough Truth so that readers of Apostolic Pentecost can figure out what I mean. Jude ( who is argued to be one of the biological brothers of Jesus) exhorted us to “earnestly contend for the faith delivered ONCE unto the saints. For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ into lasciviousness, and denying the ONLY Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ (Jude 3-4).”

Jesus NEVER said or intimated to His disciples, followers and/or those He taught there would be “more than one” way in which to enter His presence. He never said there would be a myriad of manners in which to be saved.

He gave unto the Apostle Peter the Keys to the Kingdom. Or, to use language we are more familiar with, it would have been something like “Hey bud, You are going to ‘call the shots’ down here. What you say is what it’s going to be. What you bind or loose is going to be bound or loosed in heaven.”

What the Apostle Peter said was, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. For the promise is unto you (Acts 2:38-39).”

For those that want to be argumentative with other, there is no contradiction between the words of Jesus in Matthew 28:19 and the words of the Apostle Peter in Acts 2:28. Jesus told us to “go” and be baptized in the NAME (singular) of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. Peter told us what the actual NAME was. It is debated that the earliest written manuscripts of the Gospel according to Matthew have 28:19 reading “Go ye therefore and teach all nations, baptizing them into the name of Jesus Christ . . . ”

Every instance in the early church, using the Book of Acts as our reference, every recorded incidence of an individual being water baptized was done by full-immersion in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins.

  2. Know what I have no problem with being 100% Apostlic, Jesus only, Our Savior was very clear on how we as his discilpes are to conduct themselves as we wait for His return. May be 1 reason some folks have a problem is with the word DISCILINE which is the root word for disciple.

  3. Amen to that brother! Forgive us Father for acting like absolute luke warm church folk zombies. Pleaaaaaze forgive us Father for obviously (or not) we knew not what we were doing.

  4. (For clarification) …It came up on my computer screen spelled with a “D” – it has since been ‘fixed’. All glory to the Father. Thank you for the reminder and great Word…I read the articles on the Apostolic website often and most enjoy!

  5. I like how you posted Contending for the Faith. Ilike the font. and the gramatical error convicted me from my last posting. Toall, I’m not a idiot i just don’t have spell check and at times my zealousness gets the best of me.

  6. Very well said POP! Your Contending The Faith article is right on time. I attend church to hear God’s Word. I also attend to learn more on how to witness better, on how to live better and how to learn more about God’s Kingdom and to fellowship with other saints, and to encourage, pray for and lift each other up.

    • Testify, Sis Celeste, testify!

      • I feel a praise break comin on! Glory!

  7. I love fellowshiping with apostolic or oneness believers. Your un-wavering loyalty to the scriptures in the book of Acts is outstanding.
However, we share with you because the love of christ constraineth us. Al scripture is profitable for doctrine, instruction and correcion. That the man or woman of God may be perfect. From Genesis to Revelation the bible is about salvation. In Genesis God tested Abraham concerning sacrificing his only son. We learn in Genesis that “God will provide Himself a Lamb”. In the gospels we see Jesus when John the baptist says “behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the World!” In Revealation we see a great multitude before the throne of God dressed in white robes. And we read” These are they who have been washed in the blood of the Lamb.’

So it is Jesus who saves us through his blood.
Physical water cannot wash away sins. But there is a river that flows from the throne of God(living waters). These living waters signifyin the Holy Ghost gives us eternal life. Peace.
